Chicago is known for its incredibly restrictive firearms laws. Why didn’t the victims simply hold up a copy of the city statutes in defense of their lives? Surely the shooters would have realized that they were in a “gun-free” zone and been on their merry way to conduct their crime somewhere guns are allowed. Right?
